Welcome to the Labor and Employment Law Association Website!

The Seattle University School of Law Labor and Employment Law Association (LELA) is a student run organization founded in 1997. Professor Melinda Branscomb has served as LELA’s dedicated faculty advisor since the inception of the association.

LELA strives to enhance the study of Labor and Employment Law at Seattle University by advocating for classes in the area of Labor and Employment law, providing opportunities for students to attend events and Continuing Legal Education seminars, bringing speakers onto campus, and holding networking events, such as receptions and lunches. LELA administers a listserv for current students and alumni in order to disperse important information regarding all of these opportunities in the most efficient means possible. LELA has also launched a Westlaw TWEN site for the 2003-2004 academic year to provide an additional forum for communication with LELA members.

It is extremely important to LELA to maintain an open forum for students and attorneys studying and practicing in different areas of Labor and Employment law. To this end, LELA strives to have diverse perspectives represented on the LELA Board of Directors, in the membership, and in the events and speakers presented by LELA.

We are excited that you are interested in LELA, and if you are not already a member, hope you will consider becoming one.
