Impact
Every gift helps provide a growing margin of excellence that underwrites scholarships, faculty, our library, student organizations and competitions, core programs and initiatives, each of which is critical as SU School of Law educates lawyers who distinguish themselves through their outstanding legal skills and dedication to law in the service of justice.
Through your participation, you encourage others’ support, which in turn helps raise the school’s profile and reputation. Your example and leadership inspire others to give.
In fiscal years 2007 and 2008, gifts to the law school’s Annual Fund for Excellence helped to:
- Support SU School of Law's summer study-abroad programs in South Africa, Brazil and Germany ;
- Fund new student initiatives, such as the Katrina initiatives in New Orleans, covered in recent communications from the law school;
- Expand career counseling and mentoring opportunities offered through the Center for Professional Development;
- Support the Scholars for Justice Award, a three-year, full-tuition scholarship supporting students committed to public interest law;
- Offer the first entirely asynchronous online course, taught by two of our outstanding research librarians;
- Develop new internships and externships, including 69 international and national externships in the spring of 2008;
- Increase significantly the number of professors presenting and publishing papers within the U.S. and internationally;
- And, so much more.
I give because:
"One of those things that had the most influence on me in my life was my law school opportunity and experience."
