A mandatory orientation will take place Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 9:00 -11:30 a.m. in Room 109. Breakfast will be provided. Orientation will be videotaped for non-SU participants.
Global Justice Advocacy is a three-credit program sponsored by Seattle University School of Law and The Mandela Institute of the Law School of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. This program is accredited by the American Bar Association.
The program provides an intensive introduction to South African law, cross-cultural communication, and the law of globalization. Law Students from across the United States and graduate-level law students from South Africa and other countries make up a diverse group of students.

Applications may be submitted electronically to Junsen Ohno at ohnoj@seattleu.edu. Your e-mail should have “South Africa Summer Application” as its subject line. If you e-mail your application you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of your submission, you should assume that your application was not received.
Acceptance to the program will be based on rolling admissions. You are encouraged to submit your application form and materials as soon as possible. Once accepted, you can purchase your air ticket early before the expected increase as a result of World Cup 2010 in Johannesburg.
Upon acceptance to the program, participants are required to submit all summer-abroad forms to Junsen Ohno by April 30, 2010.
If you are planning to extend your stay and participate in the World Cup festivities, special arrangements for student travelers are available through reputable travel agencies.
